What the AI does
Matterline uses Google's Gemini model to organize the notes you paste into a structured summary and chronological timeline. It extracts events, dates, people, reported incidents, gaps, and follow-up questions from your source material.
What the AI does not do
- It does not provide legal advice or conclusions.
- It does not decide whether harassment, discrimination, retaliation, or any violation legally occurred — incident labels are organizational only.
- It does not predict outcomes or recommend settlement amounts or strategy.
- It does not invent facts, dates, quotes, or people. Missing items are flagged.
Draft work product
Every generated analysis is labeled as draft work product and carries this notice:
AI-generated work product. Review for accuracy, completeness, confidentiality, and privilege before relying on or sharing it.
How your input is handled
Notes are sent server-side to the Gemini API for a single request and are not stored by Matterline unless you save the resulting analysis. Prompts and responses are never logged. The model is instructed to treat your notes purely as source material and to ignore any instructions embedded within them.
Accuracy & limitations
AI output can be incomplete or wrong. Confidence levels and "needs clarification" flags are provided to help your review, not to replace it. Always verify against the underlying source and your own judgment.
